GLC - Honor Me

— Sean @ 2:54 am

Okay I know we are the biggest GLC fanboys of all time here but he does the damn thing with this song (!) I am the grain godamnit / don’t go against me

Madvillain - Accordion Unreleased Video

— Sean @ 2:18 pm

Speaking of Stone’s Throw, they put up a new (old) video for what might be my favorite joint off the Madvillain album, “Accordion”. The video is nothing too special by itself, if it weren’t for the fact that it was going to come out with the upcoming Stone’s Throw 102 “In Living the True Gods” DVD featuring music videos from a slew of ST artists / affiliates as well as a bunch of behind the scenes and interview footage from Dilla, Madlib, and PB Wolf / Charizma.

Pete Rock - NY's Finest [EPK]
Uploaded by PeteRock

Thanks to J for putting me up on this video. What can you say? All of these producers agree (as does the hip hop community):Pete Rock has the midas touch. I remember back in high school when the we used to just sit in the senior lounge and freestyle to that Petestrumentals CD that came out on the Beat Generation series with Dilla’s Welcome to Detroit album. The way he isolates loops and finds that perfect drum hit is CRAZY. U Are What U Are!

Madlib’s Beat Konductah in India Promo Video

— Sean @ 12:01 pm

This is probably over a year old but I just saw for the first time this morning and it made me laugh. Stone’s Throw is always doin’ it big with the promo videos for their material, and it’s amazing that other labels (major, indie, or otherwise) still don’t seem to get it on that front…in other news the Selva team is closing in on a movie project for India this summer, so keep it locked ‘cuz we headed for the subcontinent!
